Retina/Hi Res images on mobile. That's geek-speak for images that are double the resolution so users can pinch and zoom on an image on mobile and get great high resolution detail. By default when you enlarge the pics on Yahoo's mobile pages, you lose detail. The Retina/Hi Res images feature greatly reduces pixelation and fuzziness so your mobile shoppers can zoom in and get an up close look at your products.
SEO and Mobile Friendly.
Easy, Fast Install.
The pictures on this page are examples of the difference in clarity between Retina/Hi Res and non-retina technology. The main image below of the seagulls is a picture of a shower curtain which is loaded on our site with both standard and hi-res retina image technology. Move your mouse on and off the image. When you hover over the image, it is the hi-res retina image pic. When you move your mouse away, the picture changes to the non-retina picture. I notice the effect most prominently when I look at the curtain rings toward the top of the picture.
For Mobile users who cannot 'mouse over' the seagull picture, the main picture and inset picture are retina and non-retina pics of a shower curtain with a daisy pattern. The main picture of the flower patterned shower curtain is a mobile retina picture. The inset is a non-retina pic. You can see the main picture has greater clarity which is essential when mobile shoppers use the pinch to enlarge function.
