How does the software know which graphic to upload to which item?
Each file should be named based on the ID of the item it should be uploaded to. If you have an item with an ID of AABB (so it would be found on AABB.html), then the graphic to upload should be named AABB.jpg or AABB.gif.
Why can it only upload JPG or GIF files?
This is a constraint of the Yahoo Store. Currently, Yahoo Store only supports JPG and GIF uploads for individual item pictures. Other files may be uploaded in the files section, but are not supported within an individual item.
Why does the bottom window show what is happening, and why does it keep popping up when I'm working?
In order for the graphic uploader to work it must access the file upload control in Yahoo. The file upload control has a security limitation which makes it impossible to access directly through a program (unlike any other web page item). So in order for this to function properly it must use keystrokes to specifically enter the location of the file to upload. The program will automatically pop up on top of any other program while running so it can properly enter the keystrokes needed.
We HIGHLY recommend that while the graphic uploader is working that you do not use your computer as it may cause your upload to fail or keystrokes get sent to anything else you might be working on.
Is there a limit to the size of graphics it can upload?
There are no limits built in to the software itself but Yahoo may have some maximum file size. We highly recommend optimizing your graphics in order to improve the user's download time before uploading your graphics.
Is there a limit to the number of graphics it can upload?
There are no limits built in to the software itself. There are functional limits in Windows as to the number of files in a particular folder, but if you have many nested subfolders you will be able to upload thousands of graphics.
How long does it take to upload each graphic or batch of graphics?
Unfortunately there is no definitive answer to this. The speed of the program uploading your graphics has to do with the speed of your internet connection, the speed of the Yahoo Store servers, the speed of your computer, and the size of the individual graphics.
I have a slow internet connection. Is there a way to speed up the upload?
There is no way to speed up the uploading process. One choice is to contact us about our graphic upload service and we can do the uploads for you. We can also optimize your graphics at the same time.
What if I don't have my original graphics but I want to upload different size graphics?
You can purchase our graphic downloader tool and download all the graphics to your computer. Then you can resize the graphics on your computer and upload them using the graphic uploader. Or you can contact us about our graphic optimization package where we can download your existing graphics, optimize them, and then reupload them at multiple sizes for you.
Is there a way to select specific graphics to upload out of an existing folder?
Currently the program uploads the entire folders contents. This is done intentionally since the main purpose of this program is to bulk upload the graphics. If you are interested in a version for selecting specific files at a time please contact us and let us know.
Will this program work on my Non U.S. Yahoo Store?
At this time the program has not been completely tested with all the international Yahoo Stores, but all our tests show it functioning perfectly so far. If you have any issues please let us know and we will resolve them.
